• Assist. prof. Dr. Andrea Dandić participated in the event “Science in Passing,” aimed at promoting open science and strengthening the role of women in science. She delivered a lecture entitled “Small Changes, Big Effects: The Path to New Bioactive Molecules,” in which she introduced the general public to the process of designing bioactive molecules and demonstrated how small changes in chemical structure can significantly affect their biological activity. The lecture presented the results of the project “ Integrated approaches in the development and analysis of bioactive and environmentally relevant functional compounds (INPRAFUN),” funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.

  • Graduation thesis “Study of the Antioxidant Activity of Selected Honey Types”

As part of the INPRAFUN project, the graduation thesis “Study of the Antioxidant Activity of Selected Honey Types” investigated the antioxidant properties and total phenolic content of eleven honey samples of different botanical and geographical origins from Croatia. The results revealed a relationship between antioxidant activity, polyphenol content, and honey colour, with darker honey varieties generally exhibiting stronger antioxidant properties. These findings highlight the value of honey as a natural source of bioactive compounds and contribute to a better understanding of its potential health benefits.

  • Presentation of the INPRAFUN Project at the Open Day of the Department of Chemistry

As part of the Open Day of the Department of Chemistry, the project “Integrated Approaches in the Development and Analysis of Bioactive and Environmentally Relevant Functional Compounds – INPRAFUN” was presented.

During the event, visitors had the opportunity to learn about the main objectives of the project, the planned research activities, and the possibilities for students to become involved in scientific research within the framework of the project.

The presentation of the project was part of activities aimed at promoting science and bringing research closer to the wider public.
